The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to improve and promote communication between schools, parents,
and public agencies to increase community awareness, facilitate parent education and support, and to coordinate activities
on behalf of children with exceptional needs. Members participate in the special education program review and provide
input to the master plan, assist in the development of parent information materials and awareness activities to understanding
disabling conditions. Membership is composed of school district board-appointed parents, educators and public/private agency
representatives within San Joaquin County SELPA. Business meetings are held at the San Joaquin County Office of Education,
Wentworth Education Center, located at 2707 Transworld Drive in Stockton. Topic presentations and/or meetings are held monthly.
Meetings are open to the public and are followed by an opportunity to discuss specific parent concerns and issues.

Members of the public may participate in Community Advisory Committee meetings virtually via Zoom. The Zoom participation details are provided on the top of the first page of the meeting agenda, which can be accessed below. Translation services for Spanish speaking participants will be available.
