Migrant Residential Leadership Summer Institutes
Students at the high school level participate in a two-week residential leadership institute at a California State University campus. During the two-week session students take classes to develop English Language Arts and math skills and participate in cultural activities to develop self-pride and self-confidence. Students also listen to motivational guest speakers in various career fields. The students also participate in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and leadership activities, along with team-building activities that help to build a sense of community.

Outdoor Education Students in fourth through sixth grade spend five days in the California Sierra Nevada at Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center, where they learn about natural science. This trip allows students to develop team building and communication skills in a safe and beautiful environment.

Speech and Debate This opportunity gives high school and elementary students an opportunity to sharpen their public speaking skills and techniques. Each year, more than 10 students are selected to use their talents at the Migrant Education State Sponsored Speech and Debate Tournament.
