County Board of Education

The San Joaquin County Board of Education is the elected governing body of San Joaquin County Office of Education. The five members of the San Joaquin County Board of Education each represent a geographic area of San Joaquin County. Members are elected into office and serve six-year terms. The Board approves the SJCOE annual budget and serves as an appeal board of such actions as interdistrict attendance requests, student expulsions, and charter school petitions. The Board also serves as a county committee on school district organization that addresses changes in boundaries of school districts and areas represented by school district governing board members. Regular meetings of the San Joaquin County Board of Education are held the third Wednesday of each month at noon in the Board Room at the Gaylord A. Nelson Education Center, 2901 Arch-Airport Road, Stockton, unless otherwise posted.
