What San Joaquin County students and families need to know about school meal services:

  • • Families can pick up meals from any school site meal location that is nearest to them, even if the child does not attend school in that district.
  • • Meals are free to all children through the age of 18. Students in special education programs are eligible until age 22.
  • • Children must be present to receive the meals.
  • • Documentation is not required to receive the meals.
  • • Meal delivery may look different at each district. For example, some district may be providing meal pick-up one time a week, which will require refrigeration. Some districts may be providing daily meal pick-up or delivery options that may include breakfast, lunch, or both.
  • • To reduce the risk of spreading germs, children cannot eat meals on-site and must follow social distancing practices by staying at least 6 feet apart from school staff when receiving meals.
