The San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) hosted a launch event today for Go San Joaquin (GoSJ), a new, online resource that allows high school students and adults to explore professional growth opportunities and connect to careers in San Joaquin County. The one-stop shop provides county residents with a comprehensive hub for education, skills training, and essential connections to resources, all aimed at helping individuals access opportunities and achieve their career goals.
During the launch event, attendees explored the website and learned about the website’s key resources, which include:
- A database of high school CTE programs, offered by local districts and the SJCOE, and how to enroll in CTE classes.
- Information on certificate and degree opportunities offered in San Joaquin County, including high school diplomas (or equivalency), college degrees, and learning English and citizenship.
- Connections to employment and training programs for both young adults and adults.
- Specialized programs to support local businesses and enhance economic development.
- Resources to find available job opportunities.
- And more.
"GoSJ empowers our community with the information they need to find opportunities and resources to achieve their career aspirations and build a bright future," said Janine Kaeslin, Deputy Superintendent of Student Programs and Services at the SJCOE. "GoSJ fills an important need for individuals seeking programming and services in our county but might not know where to start looking. This enables them to find the right fit for their own professional interests, needs, and goals."
GoSJ was created in partnership with the SJCOE, San Joaquin Adult Education Consortium, San Joaquin Delta College, San Joaquin Partnership, and San Joaquin County WorkNet. The platform will serve as a vital link between education and industry, providing San Joaquin County residents with pathways for economic mobility and growth.
“The launch of the GoSJ website marks a significant milestone in our efforts to attract new businesses to San Joaquin County,” said Bob Gutierrez, President and CEO of San Joaquin Partnership. “This platform not only showcases the unique advantages our County offers but also provides employers with the essential resources and information they need to invest and grow here. We are confident that GoSJ will be a powerful tool in driving economic growth and creating new opportunities for our community.”
The GoSJ website is now LIVE at www.GoSJ.org. San Joaquin County residents are encouraged to visit the website and follow the Go San Joaquin Facebook and Instagram accounts (@GoSanJoaquin) to explore the latest opportunities available in the county. Businesses interested in becoming a partner and having their resources added to the site should complete the “Let’s Team Up” section on the GoSJ homepage.
