Join us for a FREE artist workshop for students grades 7-12! This one-day event of visual art programming, held in conjunction with We Heart Art Academy, will be held on Saturday, August 24 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Teachers College of San Joaquin, 2721 Transworld Drive, Stockton, CA 95206. Check in starts at 8:30 a.m.
The students who complete this event will:
- Learn about careers in the art field.
- Learn new techniques with hands-on activities in an art field.
- Make connections with other students and local, professional visual artists.
Professional artists will hold activities that allow students to get to know the teaching artists and one another, introduce new techniques with hands-on activities, and learn about careers related to the class subject. The event will include get-to-know-you games, hands-on art activities, career exploration, and a few giveaway prizes.
Students will also hear from Louisa Hunter, recently named Top 21 emerging artists under 31 years old by Southwest Art Magazine. Louisa is a former San Joaquin County student and graduated from Sierra High School in Manteca!
Lunch will be provided for all students who participate.
Seats are filling fast and are available as a first come, first served opportunity. Students will be notified on Monday, Aug. 19, if they will be admitted. Click here to register.
