The 2022 Dashboard establishes a new baseline of data

The 2021-22 school year was the first year of a full return to the classroom at schools across California. This included the resumption of the collection of information and student outcomes reported in the online tool known as the California School Dashboard

The Dashboard displays the performance of local educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and student groups on a set of state and local indicators to assist in identifying strengths, challenges, and areas in need of improvement. It goes beyond test scores and measures six areas: academic performance, chronic absenteeism, college/career readiness, English learner progress, graduation rates, and suspension rates.

California relaunched the Dashboard in December 2022, following a pause due to the waiving of many state and federal accountability requirements. The 2022 Dashboard establishes a new baseline with the first reporting of this data since before the pandemic (2019). Data from future years will be used to measure the growth of student outcomes. This will be an important indicator of how schools are growing and improving.
