San Joaquin County Enters Red Tier

On Sept. 29, 2020, San Joaquin County moved to the Substantial (red) tier under California's Blueprint for a Safer Economy. If the county remains in the red tier for two weeks, schools may consider re-opening to in-person instruction.

San Joaquin County schools began the 2020-21 school year under distance-learning only models while developing plans on how to safely resume in-person instruction that align with guidance from state and local health officials.

Each of San Joaquin County's 14 school districts, as well as charter and private schools, will make its own decision on how and when to reopen based on state and county public health guidance. The SJCOE will continue to work alongside educational leaders and San Joaquin County Public Health Services in this new phase.

Please read the press release from the San Joaquin County.
