Additional training and support make paraprofessionals even more-valued members of educational team

Paraprofessionals at New Hope Elementary School receive intensive training and support on how to get the most out of students in a small group setting.

The "In the Classroom" feature in the latest issue of the SJCOE Outllook profiles the valuable role of the paraprofessional in the classroom. Program coordinators share how coaching, training, and additional support for paraprofessionals result in successful student outcomes.

As Janet Stemler, the superintendent-principal of New Hope Elementary School District says, "We are giving them the skills and tools so they have a deeper understanding of how we are trying to teach."
