Nearly 30 schools in San Joaquin County are registered to compete in the San Joaquin County Science and Engineering Fair. About 300-400 projects are expected to be submitted by more than 1,000 K-12 students in individual, group, and whole-class projects. This year, all students entering the fair have the potential to earn certificates, ribbons, medals, and other materials, plus a portion of more than $5,500 in prize money. This is an increase from private donors of over $3,000. Awards are determined by the judges’ evaluations of the projects. Teachers who attend the awards ceremony on March 3 will be entered to win 1 of 10 $100 NASCO gift cards.
