Title:  Social Emotional Learning Made Easy:  The Common Sense Standards for Speech Language Pathology

Tuesday, October 24, 2017 - 8:30 am - 4:00 pm - San Joaquin County Office of Education, WEC, Burwood Auditorium - 2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton

Target Audience:  Speech/Language Therapists, School Psychologists, General & Special Education Teachers, Parents, School-Based Clinicians

Workshop Description:  This highly engaging workshop is designed for Speech Language Pathologists who want to add more tangible, effective, and easy to implement social-emotional (SEL) tools into therapy in both school and clinical settings. The Kimochis Keys to Communication will be highlighted as these simple yet effective tools provide children the words and actions that promote social-emotional development, support positive behavior and contribute to academic success. The connection between feelings and behavior and how temperament influences social habits will be outlined for clinical implications. At the completion of this training, clinicians will be well prepared to run small social skill groups, push into classrooms, and/or run one-on -one sessions using these new SEL tools to promote resiliency and social competency in the students you work with.  These powerful prevention and intervention tools are so well received and highly needed in our world today that parents and teachers will be even more aware as to what an SLP can do for young students.

Note:  You do not have to own Kimochis to use the clinical tools in this training however Kimochis products will be raffled throughout the day of the training.
