Target Audience:  speech-Language Pathologists, School Psychologists, Special and General Education Teachers, and Administrators

Workshop Description:  Paraeducators need to have tools to support individuals with ASD in the classroom. Based on the “How to be a ParaPro” book, by Diane Twachtman-Cullen, this training includes information on supporting students with autism spectrum disorders (as well as other developmental disabilities). This training will discuss the art and science of working with students. Specific tools will be added to your personal tool box to help students with ASD within the classroom environment. These tools will address: visual strategies, behavioral concerns, organization of materials, and environmental supports, in addition to others.
