Regional System of District and School Support, Region 6 (RSDSS)

(209) 468.9056 • Staff Directory

The Federal Education initiative requires each state to provide a system of intensive and sustained support for schools and districts receiving Title 1 funds. The purpose of this support is to increase the opportunity for all students to meet the State’s rigorous content and achievement standards. The Regional System of District and School Support, Region 6 (RSDSS) is a part of this statewide system, which includes the California Department of Education and the Comprehensive Assistance Center (WestEd). RSDSS serves a five county area (Delta/Sierra) and provides professional development and on-site technical assistance in evidence-based/effective instructional strategies, Professional Learning Communities, instructional leadership, and instructional coaching. Although we develop a spectrum of professional development areas and technical assistance practices that aim to bring effective instruction to scale, each practice is designed to converge into the same high-impact areas: school culture, teacher collegiality, student engagement, and strategic, effective instruction.
