High School Honors Concert
The San Joaquin County Office of Education, in partnership with the San Joaquin County Music Educators’ Association (SJCMEA) and Delta College music department, sponsor this event, held in Atherton Auditorium on the Delta College campus on the first or second Saturday in January. Talented band and choir students from High Schools throughout the county are chosen to participate in Honor Band and Honor Choir. SJCMEA HONOR CHOIR - Audition Information Student membership is by tape audition. Applications and information will be sent to Choir Directors in September. Audition Particulars. Students interested in membership need to ask their home choir director for application forms. These forms will provide further details. Audition Compulsory. The tape audition will consist of a major scale (one octave up and down), a chromatic scale (one octave up and down) and ‘America the Beautiful.” All will be sung unaccompanied. Fees. The student fee is $25 per student. Director Participation. Directors from participating schools are obliged to provide assistance at rehearsals as needed. School participation fee $45.00 per ensemble.
