Thank you for visiting our San Joaquin County Office of Education’s website. At the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), we believe that every student deserves to have the opportunity for a quality education. To that end, SJCOE directly serves some of our community’s most needy students: children of migrant families, students who are homeless, students who have severe special needs, and students who are at-risk. We recognize that partners are essential in our work. I am appreciative of our great community partnerships. Our local businesses, local government partners, law enforcement and safety agencies, colleges and universities, and community service groups are committed to our youth and to our schools. These partners in education keep us focused and excited about what the future holds for us and for our youth. I am equally appreciative of our dedicated, innovative, and hard working staff. Each one of our employees is important to the overall purpose of meeting the educational needs of students, but it is when we, as individuals, work together as one, that we can make miracles. Our employees are encouraged and empowered to “make miracles,” set and accomplish goals that improve the lives of children, and find new and better ways to serve students of all ages. Our programs are not limited to operation within San Joaquin County. We provide service to other county offices; to school districts outside of our County; to other States; and to our local, State, and Federal government. Our Center for Educational Development and Research provides clients statewide with solutions to educational administrative needs by use of the latest internet technologies. Working with the California Department of Education, SJCOE’s Assessment Projects help organize, develop, and distribute assistance packets related to the statewide STAR, CAHSEE, CELDT, Physical Fitness, NAEP, and CHSPE tests. Our regional programs in migrant education, literacy, science, outdoor education, and charter schools all give evidence to our goal of providing service to those who are in need. SJCOE’s successful track record of bringing innovative solutions to issues both inside and outside of our County, has enabled us to become recognized throughout the State as an educational leader. San Joaquin County Office of Education is a great place to work. It is a place “where kids come first!” It is also a place where we are always striving to get better, as an organization, and as a place where dreams for a brighter future can become a reality for all youth.
