Well of course you do. Would you like those teachers to receive $5,000 and the department they work in to receive another $5,000? If you answered yes – fill out an application for the new Cortopassi Family Foundation Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Awards for 2013. This program is a local award for two 9 – 12 grade teachers in San Joaquin County (two for math and two for science). The Cortopassi Family Foundation is sponsoring the award with coordination through the San Joaquin County Office of Education. The application has two sections, which are due on January 31 at 5 p.m. The first is the Nomination Form (download below) and the other includes three letters of recommendation. The nomination form should be attached to the three letters of recommendation and sent to Deputy Superintendent of SJCOE, Gary F. Dei Rossi, Ed.D. (address is provided in the attached document). The nomination packet provides you with the eligibility requirements, nomination information, timeline, selection criteria, details concerning the three letters of recommendation, the due date for the nominations, and where to send the completed packet. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding teachers who exemplify the best in the teaching profession as well as inspire students and fellow colleagues to be the best they can be.
