• Close Up Summer Leadership Experience – Each year high school students travel to Washington D.C. to learn about government, leaders, and advocates within their communities.
• Migrant Scholars Leadership Institute CSU Sacramento– Students at the High School level participate in classes that focus on topics of interest within their communities while learning about teamwork and leadership.
• Mini Corp Outdoor Education – Fourth- and fifth-grade students spend five days in the California Sierra Nevada Mountains, where they apply knowledge of science and law learned in the classroom. This trip allows students to develop team-building and communication skills in a safe and beautiful environment.
• Speech and Debate – This opportunity gives high school students an opportunity to sharpen their public speaking skills and techniques. Each year, more than 10 students are selected to use their talents at the Ventura County Speech and Debate Conference. In 2009, the team won awards and trophies.
