The County Office also operates programs at more than 75 locations throughout San Joaquin County including our one. Community Schools, Special Education Classrooms, and Migrant Education sites. SJCOE’s Administrative campus is located along Arch-Airport Road and Transworld Drive in Stockton, conveniently located just off Highway 99. Gaylord A. Nelson Education Center, 2901 Arch-Airport Road, is a 41,000 square ft. facility housing the County Superintendent’s Office, County Board of Education’s Board Room, Business Services including Operations and Information Technology, Human Resources, Student Programs and Services including SJCOE Production and the Public Information Office, and the Center for Educational Development and Research (CEDR.) The Locke Meeting rooms are also housed at the Nelson Center.

The SJCOE/Venture Academy Challenge Course is housed next door to the Nelson Center. This ropes and high wire activity field offers education and local groups the opportunity to practice great team-building skills and more.

The Professional Development Center, 2857 Transworld Drive, houses more than 20,000 square feet of office and meeting space including Teacher Development, Science and Special Programs, and Curriculum and Instructional Technology. The PDC also includes four computer labs, a video production studio, and a robotics laboratory.

The Education Service Center, 2707 Transworld Drive, is SJCOE’s largest facility at more than 65,000 square feet. The building’s ground floor is home to a variety of meeting rooms, a full-service deli, County Operated Schools and Programs student services, WorkStartYES*, one. Resource, and Multilingual Education offices. The second floor houses County Operated Schools and Programs administrative offices, Special Education / SELPA offices, Migrant Education administrative offices, and Educational Services offices.
