About SJCOE

San Joaquin County Office of Education is a regional agency whose mission is to provide educational leadership, resources, and service to assist school districts to be effective facilities of learning for all pupils. County Superintendent for Schools Fredrick A. Wentworth, Ed. D, has set an organizational philosophy and culture at SJCOE that ensures students come first and that every San Joaquin County student, regardless of circumstances, has the opportunity for a quality education.

True to this philosophy, SJCOE reaches out by creating partnerships with local districts, regional programs, community members, and state government to provide services and programs that would otherwise be impossible. The County Office is recognized for the educational leadership it provides to local districts and throughout California with a successful track record of bringing innovative solutions to educational issues both inside and outside the classroom.

Superintendent Wentworth also realizes that it takes a dedicated, talented, and knowledgeable staff to provide students with the educational programs they need and deserve. SJCOE staff are encouraged and empowered to accomplish identified goals.
