The San Joaquin County Office of Education is proud to announce the 2018 Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute (CWTI). Each year approximately 10 teachers from Region Six are selected to receive scholarships to attend the week-long institute.

Teachers who are selected will travel to Colonial Williamsburg, engage with historical character interpreters, and become a part of the Revolutionary City. Master teachers and historians guide participants through interdisciplinary learning in Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, and Yorktown. Participants engage in activities and develop instructional materials that will be shared with other teachers for use in classrooms.

The application process will open in January. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Kathe Gonsalves at kagonsalves@sjcoe.net or (209) 468-4865.

On Nov. 2, 2017, we will host our annual Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute Open House at the San Joaquin County Office of Education Wentworth Education Center, located at 2707 Transworld Dr., Stockton. Fifth grade teachers who attended the 2017 institute will present. Come and hear for yourself what the CWTI experience is all about!
